Question Why no *salvaging* of customized items?

Not being able to re-customize a weapon I can understand; that defeats the whole purpose. But why are we not able to salvage a customized item?

I have three or four swords that I've customized to me; when I try to salvage them I get an error message "this item cannot be salvaged." They range from a regular sword with nothing on it, a butterfly sword with a couple upgrades, and a fiery sword. Each one is customized, none will let me salvage them.

If it's not the customization, what else could it be...?

Were they quest rewards?

Correct, they have to be quest rewards for you not to be able to salvage them. Wether they are customized or not.

Otherwise, customizable weapons are always salvagable.

Nope. The butterfly sword I found as a drop, the fiery I bought from a player (could be a quest reward for all I know). I'm telling you, neither is salvageable.

*shrug* Dunno, but they're not...

I couldn't tell you about the Butterfly Sword but I would venture to guess that the other one was probably a quest reward. I can say with somewhat certainty that it most likely doesn't have anything to do with being customized or not. The reason being is that I just salvaged 2 customized items last night without any problems.

Well at least you have an idea to look out for in this respect down the road. If you ever figure out a reason be sure to come back and tell us. Sorry that we couldn't offer a concrete answer for you.

I found a Red Cape, in a chest on a quest somewhwere near Lions gate,I belive, and it says it's a salvagable item, but whether I use the salvage tools, or the Expert kit, I get, "This Item can not be salvaged" in red letters on the screen, anyone else get this??
